The city's growth

Something special is happening in Eindhoven region. For years, this region has experienced the strongest economic growth in the Netherlands. The Hague, Brussels, and even Washington are interested in the high-tech marvel known as ASML.

Eindhoven residents are proud of our city's development. But they also want to live in a balanced city: affordable and accessible. They see that large companies are making massive profits, while their own lives are becoming more expensive. Due to the massive growth of companies, many employees are coming to the region in search of housing. Eindhoven residents are already struggling to find a suitable home in Eindhoven. Finding a GP was already difficult, schools are overflowing, and social cohesion is under pressure.

In a region where the large companies and economic interests rule, a strong counterpower is needed. I stand for a city where the economy serves society, and not the other way around. A livable city that puts nature and people first.

The large companies, the national government, and the EU must take more responsibility to restore the city's balance. They must contribute their fair share. If they don't, then it is up to us, the municipality, to put a halt to the economic growth.
